BEN DJ - ROCK IT (ALEX MARTELLO & LOONEYS RMX)

Last but not least for today - a new track was released exclusively on Beatport today via Armada Music. The track is by Ben DJ and is called "Rock it". One of the remixes on the release is by Alex Martello & Looneys, which makes the release even more interesting. Alex Martello has proven enough times already what great remixes he can do, so it's up to you to decide, if this one's as good as the others. I belive it is :)
You can find the remix at 2:20 on the video below:

MICHAEL GRAY & JON PEARN - JUPITER ONE

And another great track will be released soon. It's called "Jupiter one" and is by Full Intention aka Michael Gray & Jon Pearn. It had its first play on Pete Tong's show a couple of weeks ago. The track will be released by Full Intention Records on 06/02/12. I really like it, it has a very nice Brit underground sounding and I love Full Intention for nnot being mainstream. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do :)

CHRIS LAKE - BUILD UP

The latest song by Chris Lake had it's first play last friday on Pete Tong's Essential Selection. The new track is a great followup of "Sundown" and the vocals are again by Chris Lake's talented wife Gita Lake aka Nastala. It should be released around the new Winter Music Conference in Miami and most likely on Chris' label Rising Music. Until then, we can listen to the recording from Pete's show.

P.S: don't get confused by the name of the YouTube video, the vocals are definitely by Gita and not by Nadia Ali.

IVAN GOUGH & FEENIXPAWL ft GEORGI KAY - IN MY MIND (AXWELL MIX)

It's finally out on Axtone Records today!! The great track, which Axwell made legendary with his mix, playing it at the Swedish House Mafia show at MSG in December. "In my mind" by Ivan Gough, Feenixpawl & Georgi Kay is a great tune with the typical axwellized sounding, great vocals and combines a calm melody with some really tough elements. All in all - a must-have!

SEBASTIAN INGROSSO & ALESSO - CALLING (LOSE MY MIND)

Every one of you should have heard of "Calling" by Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso by now. The first collab of the Swedes, which was released on 31/08/11 on Refune Records, is still huge in the scene. So huge, that there's a new vocal version of the track. You can listen to the first preview below, but it sounds very promising :)

EDDIE THONEICK & ERICK MORILLO ft. SKIN - IF THIS AIN'T LOVE

YES! YES! YES! Eddie Thoneick & Erick Morillo have a new single together! It's called "If this ain't love" and has the vocals of no one less than the lead singer of Skunk Anansie, Deborah Anne Dyer aka Skin. The song will be released on Subliminal Records on 14/02 and it already had its first play last night on Pete Tong's show. I was lucky enough to listen to the song live last week, when Eddie played it at his gig at Cocoon club. It's really great, full of emotions and...LOVE :)

EDDIE THONEICK - THE KING OF BOOTLEGS

Last Saturday was my first party at the legendary Cocoon club in Frankfurt. I've always wanted to go there and see for myself what's so special about it and now I know.

Cocoon club was founded back in 2004 and soon became one of the most important house/techno clubs in Germany. Its name is to be explained with the several lounges around the floors, which look like a cocoon in the wall. The club's design is really extravagant, spacy, modern and yet cosy. The staff is unbelievably friendly and the party was even better than I've expected.

Let me start from the very beginning. After seeing Eddie Thoneick at one of his gigs last year, which was unfortunately too short due to the late hour, I swore that I will go see him playing again as soon as possible. And yet, his performance at the MidWest Festival in Neuss later that year wasn't meant to be. His gig got cancelled, because of the unusually bad weather.

So, when I saw that he's having a gig at Cocoon club, I knew that this was my chance! Right after work I got on the train and only 250km later I was finally entering this glamorous building, also known as the UFO-building.

Do you know what it's like, when a person smiles so truly honest and from the bottom of his heart, that you just have to start smiling as well? Eddie Thoneick is exactly that kind of person. I've never seen anyone who's as positive as he is. He infects you with his good mood and it's so easy to have fun around him. On top of that he is totally a down-to-earth artist, who is more like your buddie rather than someone famous.

He played many of his great bootlegs (if you haven't heard his bootleg mix yet, make sure to follow this link later -> Eddie Thoneick special Xmas 2011 Mix), including Tomas Gold's remix of Lady Gaga's "Judas" vs "Live your life" by him, Erick Morillo & Shawnee Taylor, Michael Calfan's „Resurrection“ (Axwell Mix) vs Cassius' "Sun goes down" and also other songs like Robyn „Never Be Mine" (Fedde le Grand rmx), Fedde's remix of Coldplay's "Paradise", "Stronger" and many, many more.

The event, which was an Envy My Music event, was named "The new era of house" and Eddie Thoneick wasn't the only one playing. On the main floor were also the newcomer Madeon (Pete Tong played him last Friday on his show!) and also Marco Sönke, a well known DJ from Frankfurt, who played right before Eddie and got the crowd totally hyped with tracks like the great Lykke Li - Follow Rivers (The Magician Remix).

All in all, it was an amazing evening with great music and great people and if you have the chance to go to Cocoon any time soon or to see Eddie live, please do so, it's totally worth it!

Mugelize yourself into 2012 with Mugle's New Year Set by Mugle

PABLO DENOIS ft. LEON BÜCHTER - HURRICANE

No idea why I haven't blog already last month about this track, I must have been distracted by the holiday mode.
The following track comes from Germany and was made by Leon Büchter & Pablo Denois. Its name is "Hurricane" and I think that this is a very suitable name for it. I would describe the track as a "Avicii-meets-Afrojack"-kind of track. What do you think?

BOOTLEG SET 2012 by TimoS

My good mate TimoS has put up another great mix for us. Interesting fact about this one - it includes only bootlegs, which he's made himself. I believe that every one of you will be able to enjoy at least one of them, because TimoS has put a lot of love into doing them. It's amazing how two completely different songs could be such a good match and I'm applauding TimoS for coming up with the idea of combining tracks like these.

Every now and then I need a good portion of deep house and Melli's mix is exactly that kind of deep house - calm, soulful, tender and exciting. Go and grab your copy!

SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA - PROPAGANDA / SWANKY TUNES, MATISSE & SADKO - THE LEGEND

How did this happen? Apparently the Swedes have a new track coming out on Refune Records called "Propaganda". But there wasn't any promotion by Pete Tong, nor was there a big announcement as usually. This is why I'm still a little bit sceptic, but it sure sounds like them and there was a first play last night on Tara McDonald's show "Shut Up And Dance". So, treat it with caution - Swedish House Mafia? - Propaganda:

What we do know for sure is what will be the first release on Refune Records for 2012 - Swanky Tunes, Matisse & Sadko - The Legend. It's coming out on 18/01 and it's really promising:

Swanky Tunes, Matisse & Sadko - The Legend by refunerecords

TOP 10 ARTISTS 2011

Last year was huge in so many ways. New stars were born, the big names in the scene proved their status by continuously releasing one hit after the other. And that is why it was impossible to me to summ up all of the great tracks, which changed my world in 2011. It would have been a top 1000. So, I chose to do something else instead. I've came up with 10 guys, who in my opinion have done amazing work last year. Every one of them has released at least one big track, making 2011 a year to remember. The order of listing doesn't have to mean anything, they were equally brilliant.

This guy is the best example that age doesn't matter. If you're good, than you're good, no matter how young you are. Avicii aka Tim Bergling is so good, that he doesn't even need an introduction. His productions are destined to become hits and if you are a fan of house music, you should definitely know these tracks:

AVICII - LEVELS (ORIGINAL MIX) by AviciiOfficial

PREVIEW Avicii - Fade Into Darkness (Vocal Mix) by AviciiOfficial

PREVIEW Tom Hangs ft Shermanology - Blessed (Avicii Edit) by AviciiOfficial

PREVIEW Avicii - Sweet Dreams (Swede Dreams Mix) by AviciiOfficial

David Guetta & Avicii - Sunshine (Original Mix) by electronicasitsbest

Avicii - Fire (Levels Two) by Sebastian Cantergiani

The second one is not only the newcomer of 2011, but he's also one of the most talented guys out there. Alesso's productions will blow your mind with their power, no matter if it's one of his babies, a collab or a remix.

Titanium (Alesso Remix) *PREVIEW* by Alesso

Alex Kenji, Starkillers & Nadia Ali - Pressure (Alesso Remix) *Preview* by Alesso

Alesso - Nillionaire by Alesso

Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso - Calling (Preview) by SebastianIngrosso

Alesso - Raise Your Head *PREVIEW* by Alesso

DEVolution – Good Love (Alesso Remix) *Preview* by Alesso

The third one on my must-have list is Patric la Funk. It's unbelievable what he's achieved in 2011. It was an incredibly productive year for the German DJ. He worked together with Fedde le Grand, Inpetto, Dave Spoon, Laidback Luke and many more. I'm sure that 2012 will be even bigger for him!

PATRIC LA FUNK & INPETTO - BLIZZARD (LQ PREVIEW) by patriclafunk

Fedde Le Grand & Patric La Funk - Autosave (Original Mix) [Flamingo Recordings] by houseplanet

I'm proceeding the list with no one less than Eric Prydz himself. As time goes by, his sound has become more calm, very tender and unmistakable. It was a very strong year for Mr. Pryda with some lovely results:

My next entry comes from the UK. Calvin Harris is one hell of a producer and I can't find enough words to say how brilliant he is. That's why I'll let his music speak:

Calvin Harris - Bounce feat. Kelis by nicholaottley

In 2011 the good music came also from the other side of the globe. Dirty South has done some amazing music and it seems like every year is better than the last one. It's almost like after New Year he enters a contest with himself and he wins it every time :D Go, go Dragan :D

Dirty South and Those Usual Suspects feat. Erik Hecht - Walking Alone by Dirty South

Dirty South and Thomas Gold feat. Kate Elsworth - Alive by Dirty South

Coming Home (Dirty South Club Mix) by Dirty South

The bonus spot goes to the UK beauty Tara McDonald. Although she isn't a DJ, she fully deserves to be on my or on any TOP 10 list of 2011, because of everything she does. The Queen of House gave her voice to some huuuuuuuuuge tracks last year and is now teaching new talents on "The Voice Belgium" the magic of singing.

Pandemonium David Guetta & Afrojack feat.Tara McDonald (Original Mix) by Tara McDonald

Tara McDonald vs Sidney Samson - Dynamite (Radio Edit) by Tara McDonald

The Grand/Were not lonely Sherry Flavour & Tara McDonald by Tara McDonald

Another great producer, who made my 2011 unforgettable, is Eddie Thoneick. His tracks infect you with their energy, they make you think of the summer, of fun and happiness. And it looks like Mr. Thoneick is having a work flow these last couple of weeks, so I'm really anxious to hear the results :)

Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick "Stronger" by eddiethoneick

Moby "The Day" (Eddie Thoneick Remix) by eddiethoneick

The last two spots go to four songs, just because they were really big last year:

Chris Lake - Sundown | Essential New Tune by chrislake

Swedish House Mafia - Save The World (AN21 + Max Vangeli Remix) by officialswedishhousemafia

I hope you've enjoyed my TOP 10 for 2011. I'm pretty sure, that I've forgotten to mention so many tracks, so on that note - no hard feelings :) 2011 was a great year for house music and I believe that 2012 will be even bigger!

EYES WIDE OPEN

Wait a minute...we all know this combination! They already worked together half a year ago and the result was called "Alive". That's right, after the huge success of their first project, Dirty South, Thomas Gold and Kate Elsworth did it again. The new track is called "Eyes wide open" and will be released on 23/01 on Phazing. I have to say, it's a hell of a track!

Dirty South and Thomas Gold feat. Kate Elsworth - Eyes Wide Open (Live on Radio 1) by Dirty South

What do you think of the new tune, which had its first play last night on Pete Tong's Essential Selection?

PATRIC LA FUNK IN THE MIX

Here's the perfect way to say goodbye to 2011 and to step into the new 2012. Patric la Funk shows once again what a great sense for music he has by putting together a great mix. The giveaway includes some major hits from last year and a lot of new tracks with chart-breaker potential. On that note - take a closer listen to Nadia Ali's & Starkillers new song called "Keep it coming", which was released exclusively on Beatport on 26/12/11, it's huge! And also: Tim Mason - Anima (29/12/11 on Size) & Patric la Funk - Tenderloin (12/12/11 on Doorn Records).
